Cooking, calligraphy, discovering Farmers Markets, ethnic grocery stores so I can try new foods & recipes. I dabble at container gardening because the gofers here will eat several small trees just for breakfast.

All-time favorite: F. Scott Fitzgerald. I love books on travel, European & Mediterranean history & art, architecture, art & food. Frances Mayes' many books are totally engaging and softly poetic. I loved the Hobbit books. I like old fairy tales. I just don't have much time to read!

I'm a History Channel junkie, esp. programs on ancient Greece, Rome, Turkey, Persia, etc. I will always be a stellar fan of 24. I enjoy mini-series such as Rome and The Tudors.

I'm a California native, a Leo born in 1949 in Whittier, Calif. Graduated UCLA w/ a degree in Design, 1971. Then 10 years running my own graphic design biz in Playa del Rey CA. Moved around a bit: to Oak Park, Illinois; Seattle, Washington; Honolulu, Hawaii. Loved all of those places but came back to the mainland and entered financial marketing in Los Angeles & Pasadena CA. After almost 10 years of that pace I needed a change, so I became an assistant mgr. in a unique gift store. But over the years grew weary of the crowded freeways, smog and hype of Southern Calif so I moved to the mellow Central Coast (Cambria & Pismo Beach) & worked in retail and designed herbal/dried flower wreaths for many moons. I moved to Squaw Valley in '98 because I fell in love! After 10 good years together Michael & I finally married in September 2007. Currently I'm the office manager in a small real estate office here in Squaw Valley. I also do property mgmt. And - of course - I sell on Ebay!
