I don't feel that what I do falls under the category of WORK! I have been stitching since the age of nine with only a short break taken to earn a degree in Special Education and to teach a while, but I'd rather be creating (playing!) all day : - D

Stitching and knitting, early a.m. walking with a stop for a cup of coffee at the neighorbood coffee house, travel (when we can!), reading, spending time with my ultra-wonderful husband, and spoiling my little grand-nephew - now HE'S a real doll! : - D

Biographies (esp. those of the American presidents and ANYTHING about Audrey Hepburn), Jan Karon's Mitford series, Still Life with Crows, Blue Highways (an oldie but a goodie), and too many others to name!

ANYTHING with Russell Crowe (Cinderella Man, Master and Commander, A Beautiful Mind, 3:10 to Yuma, etc.), Breakfast at Tiffany's, Giant, The World's Fastest Indian, The Lion in Winter, The Green Mile, Hannah and Her Sisters, Sense and Sensibility, Remains of the Day, Waiting for Guffman, All-time favorite: The Right Stuff!

Frank Sinatra, U2, The Beach Boys (especially the Pet Sounds tunes), soundtracks (Moulin Rouge, Love Actually, etc.), John Lennon, Christmas tunes! All-time-favorite songs: There She Goes by The LAs, and Don't Fear the Reaper by Blue Oyster Cult (what a great tune!).

Project Runway, Ghost Hunters, FOX News. All time favorites: Alfred Hitchcock Presents, Gilmore Girls, St. Elsewhere, Northern Exposure, Dark Shadows (esp. the old black-and-white episodes)!

As mentioned above, I've been stitching since the age of nine, when my best childhood friend and I would create couture (or our idea of it!) ensembles for Barbie and Midge while watching Dark Shadows on summer mornings! In the afternoons, we'd produce fashion shows at the Barbie Boutique, with Ken and Allen sitting in the showroom on their hardboard chairs with their legs uncomfortably shooting straight out in front of them! They were, however, a MOST appreciative audience : - D A highlight of my career occurred when I was asked to reproduce host Sharon Anderson's weddng costume for her doll, which was displayed on her HGTV program Collectable Treasures - what a thrill! And another wonderful thing happened very recently, when a creation of mine (Ellowyne's The Markets of Marrakesh) tied for second place in the 2009 Fashion Doll Runway competition at the MDCC - yowzer! Many thanks to you all for your lovely support - you ARE the best dolly people on the planet!
