Warwick Castle - Voted Best Castle in Britain
Warwick Castle was voted 'Best Castle in England' in 2004. Home of the famous 'Kingmaker'-and the place where young Winston Churchill came to talk and smoke his cigars in the upper apartments. In the 1990's, a delightful secret garden outside the castle walls was dedicated by Princess Diana. On display are fragrant English roses in a Victorian arrangement of formal, but small parterres. Warwick Castle is also a great 'Leisure Centre' workout! Climb all 528 stairs in the 3 towers (including the famous Beauchamp Tower) and parapets and you will see what we mean.

Sterling Lion Antiques
Every antique is a piece of history-with a story to tell. Last year we bought an 1840 Victorian Hair Necklace that came with a cryptic note written in faded calligraphy. In the note were tiny bits of clues-no names except a reference to a 'Lady X' whose hair it was-woven for her daughters upon her death. If the item didn't sell on Ebay-we intended to find the family this belonged to-with God's help. With ideas from TV's 'History Detectives' we closed in on a possible geneology match-an English aristocratic family. But did they have any living relatives? RESULT: The necklace never sold on Ebay. AND, we were blessed with a trip to England on our anniversary. In answer to prayer we found the family and presented the necklace as a gift to relatives living on the same estate where Lady X had once lived. They were thrilled! In return, we were shown paintings of the woman (& daughters) whose hair it once belonged to. We'll never forget the amazing story of this necklace and its journey home!
We Use Acid Testing to Determine Gold Content
We use the most accurate, top model of electronic acid testing devices known to jewellers, auctioneers and metallurgists. It can distinguish if there is gold present in an item and its karat value. Often Victorian jewellery makers combined different metals in one piece - even different gold colours, such as rose gold and yellow gold together. That is why we double test, even triple test each piece in different places to determine if there is gold present. The combinations do not devalue an antique piece, but may enhance the pleasure of collecting it. Victorians were an eclectic lot and often loved combining different kinds of stones and metals together. We will supply video/digitals of our testing results for asking. Let us know, before you bid and win an item in order for us to email you the results.
