Things I sell
Things I collect
My husband and I are rabid collectors and always have been. Fossils and minerals (purchased and collected),
books (including an extensive Texana and cookbook collection),
Mexican pottery,
Central American fabrics and huipils,
glass paperweights,
French postcards,
carved boxes,
masks,
horns and unique photography fill the rooms of our small house. Outside spills more fossils and minerals,
and the house is surrounded with my ever growing collection of iris and salvias. We also have the reputation that if it is too interesting to throw away but too weird to put in their own house,
people give it to us. The ancient family accordian,
the scraggly Dutch Bible,
the metal lunchbox that my Grandfather took into the coal mines in Pennsylvania live with us.
InterestsSpecial Orders and Quests
In this troubled economy and with a hobby like ours that needs more promoting,(I do believe it would be very popular again in this era of transient plastic toys.) I urge you to purchase at your local Dollhouse/Miniature store. If you do not have one available and are looking for specific items, please visit the Aztec Imports site to see if one of their products might fit your needs. If so, contact me with the item number. I will then produce a bid and time frame for shipping and if you accept it we will run it through the Texas Tiny Collectable Miniatures store here on eBay. If you are questing for an unusual item that I might make or come accross in my estate voyages, please let me know and I will put it on my list. You will be under no obligation to buy it if you do so. In fact, you might inspire me and I would be grateful to you. Happy creating and collecting!
Business InformationHistory/background
A decade ago, my father unearthed a dollhouse purchased for my youngest sister and put that kit together for her daughter. I got involved in the project and enjoyed it. Around the same time my five year old son surprised me with a request to climb a lighthouse on vacation. When we returned I choose to combine the two interests and researched kits. The ones available provided limited options so I purchased concrete forms and developed my own. It is being finished for my son's children (he is now 14) and is almost seven feet tall, over two feet at the base and is on a rolling storage base. The thirteen rooms include my children's requests such as a lit fireplace that swings back to reveal a secret room with treasure and a mummy, a wardrobe that opens to find the lit lightpost into Narnia and a boat dock. Over the years, I have developed prototypes which I have sold at stores and annual sales in the Dallas area. These sales evolved and in February of 2008 Texas Tiny was born.

The Texas Tiny Happy Cactus Mascot
I encountered this happy fellow at Enchanted Rock State Park near Fredericksburg, which is in in the beautiful Hill Country of Texas. Enchanted Rock is an inselberg (island mountain), an exposed pink granite batholith about 70 miles accross and 1000 feet high, and is the second largest rock mountain in the country. A batholith is a giant mass of magma that intruded into the earth's crust but did not erupt. Erosion exposed this barren looking rock and the mile-long climb is daunting. However, just at the base one meets this cheery looking fellow who just helps you on and up. I took this picture about a decade ago and he has lived on my fridge. Not only does he lift my spirits, he personifies what I hope Texas Tiny will be - a company known for selling unique handcrafted 1:12 scale collectable miniatures and kits with a heavy accent on Texas connections and whimsy.
Evolution into a Business
I currently reside in Dallas, Texas after receiving my Bachelor of Fine Arts in Atlanta, GA. My first (and only entered) Dollhouse garnered Best of Show, and was the sole house in the state accepted into the 2004 Texas State Fair. I have also placed in all other competitions entered. Presently, I have varied pieces in the Dallas, Houston and San Antonio areas and teach at the Society of American Miniaturists gatherings. I participate in sales at Through The Keyhole, 2009 Texas Miniature Showcase and will be in Houston on November 22nd, 2009, at Dollhouses Unlimited for the swap meet. My Custom Dolls, Houses and Miniatures site was selected as the Featured Gallery of the Month, April 2009. With my last child growing older I will now continue expanding my small business.
