We currently have 7 cats and 1 large dog, a Chow, who is a wonderful and faithful protector of her humans and HER cats.

A recent trip to the SPCA brought me to tears. I went for information, and ALMOST came home with about 50 more pets. Cats, it seems, are not as quick to be adopted, which saddens me very much. They are very independent, yet can be very loyal and cuddly with their human companions -- given the proper care and attention they deserve. If you're up to the energy of a kitten, there are so many cuties to be had, it's hard to choose. Older cats tend to be more laid back and less time-consuming, since there's very little training involved. With any pet, however, responsible care and handling and a little patience go a long way in establishing a warm, wonderful and loyal relationship with a furry companion.
