The easter egg is one in a series of KLM items for a special occasion. Often some kind of item is made for a 'first' flight to a destination. The is a pagoda, a teapot and others. The easter egg is like this but I don't know the date nor the reason for making it other than it was probably used on flight to serve an egg in it.

hi Theo,i see you have put a bid in for KLM easter in the air,i have you to thank for the only reference i found to it on the web,i think ive worked out its 1950s? with the New York on it, was it for that flight? there is a lot of interest in the egg so far all the bids from holland, if you can enlighten me on its history i would love to know? good luck bidding, david.
