Business InformationHistory/background
I've always loved airplanes, math, AND computers - which is probably why I'm a (Georgia Tech) Aerospace Engineer, a (NASA) Information Technology manager, & (was) an Air Force Officer! Oh, and I have always loved (and still love) GAMES!
In 1998, our son (then 4 years old) got (us both) interested in Pokemon (after unanimous parental approval). When I learned the trading cards were actually part of a GAME, I was HOOKED! However, HE soon lost interest, while I was just getting STARTED! On my own, I got 'burned' by some online 'trading' sites, so I was 'in the market' for something SECURE, that PROTECTED my transactions.
In 2000, I turned to eBay to BUY, but I'd soon collected SO much I realized I'd have to learn to SELL (especially if I was to have ANY chance of my wife allowing me to continue my hobby)!

The Spirit of the Game =)
As a game of skill, Pokémon is enjoyed for its complex strategies, entertaining characters, and atmosphere of friendly competition. While the goal of a tournament is to determine the skill level of each player involved, the ultimate goal is to ensure that every participant has fun. It is this attitude that Pokémon wishes to emphasize during its events.
Regardless of the size of the prizes on the line, adherence to the Spirit of the Game helps to ensure that all participants (including players, spectators, and event staff) at an event, have an enjoyable experience. This spirit should guide the conduct of players as well as the tournament judges as they interpret and enforce the rules.
The Spirit of the Game is composed of the following tenets: Fun, Fairness, Honesty, Respect, Sportsmanship, and Learning!
Read more about this Spirit (with which my family & I first fell in love) on my About Me page (or right from the source at www.go-pokemon.com/op/whatisop/#spirit) =)
