SAMSON QH4 4-Channel Stereo DJ Studio Monitoring Headphone Amplifier Amp
    Nov 02, 2017
Ridiculously good, unbelievably powerful for $70, powers my HE-500 easily
I bought this because I wanted to be able to compare my headphones, and doing so efficiently requires a quick switch from one headphone to another. There's nothing better for doing this than having an amp with multiple ports and independent volume controls for each port (technically, independent amps) in one box -- and that's exactly what this is. This way, I can have my HiFiMAN HE-500 planar magnetic headphones in one port, and my Fidelio X2 in another, and being able to match volume to my ears by adjusting the independent volume controls at vastly different positions on the dial, which is necessary because the HE-500 require a lot more power than the Fidelio X2. The Samson QH4 does exactly what I expect an amp to do and nothing more -- powerfully and cleanly amplify the signal from my input source, and do it without adding any significant color to the sound. I couldn't detect an coloration with my ears, and it definitely has enough power. It drove all my hard-to-drive headphones with as much ease as my Schiit Magni 3 headphone amp. I drove my HE-500, the 300-ohm Sennheiser HD 650, and an AKG K712 Pro all at the same time with ease. This without a doubt one of the best values for a headphone amplifier of any kind, and it's a ridiculous value for the value of being able to drive four different headphones requiring vastly different power requirements, for sharing your audio with multiple people, or comparing headphones yourself.
