All About MeWhat everyone should know about me
I'm sort of 'no nonsense' and am often asked if I'm from New York. Hmmmm. A very nice man in Atlanta once called me a 'fast talkin' Yankee wooooman.' Hmmmm. Well, I have the spirit of the Lone Star State and 'got here as quickly as I could.'

Payment policy
PayPal preferred, money order by snail mail will work also, but leaves more room for error and delay of course. If there is going to be a delay in payment - waiting for payday, sending by snail, whatever - let me know, would you? If you leave an offer on something on your way to the airport and don't check your email for 2 weeks, don't be surprised if your seller has decided that you are a non-communicator.
Shipping information
If you get something from me really quickly, it's a fluke. Bubble and boxes are scavenged. My shipping method depends on the weight and size - I use the US Post Office, FedEx, and never UPS, even though the limited choices for the calculator feature mean that we use UPS numbers to guess at the shipping. I live 13 miles outside of San Angelo, Texas, which results in trips to FedEx maybe twice weekly. I face high winds and blowing dust here on a daily basis. Gusts of 50 mph are not at all unusual. Just battening down the hatches in the face of the elements can keep us pretty busy, as we are under construction here at Broken Dish Ranch and have tools and materials and recently moved stuff absolutely EVERYwhere. If your dishes have redidue of tape and dust stuck to them, use your dishwasher, as I have none yet and am still washing our daily dishes in the shower.
Return policy
If I send a vase, but you bought a chair - I will take a return. Otherwise, ask the doggone questions. If I am selling an 'antique,' I expect you know it is not new. Gently used 20 year old dishes are in better condition than gently used 150 year old dishes, usually. I disclose all chips and cracks that I see. I 'expect more' from newer dishes, you know, I make more allowances for rare antiques than for 10 year old dishes.

Refunds and Claims
I would have thought this was obvious, but find that it is not. If something arrives broken and you did not pay for insurance, there is no way to place a claim. I do want to hear about it, in case I remember something odd about the package or shipping that will help future shipments arrive safely. If something arrives damaged, you will need to keep the item, NOT THROW IT AWAY. If it is insured, I will need detailed pictures emailed to me or there can be no claim. I'm sure YOU are honest, as are most folks, but I will not make a practice of paying claims for damage I cannot see. Let the rule of thumb be that whatever procedure you might need to place a claim with any big company, my procedure will be less trouble, but a claim will still involve submitting pictures I can SEE, a time lag for review, and my determination will be final. That is no different than the post office, UPS, or any other claim in life.
FEEDBACK
I consider a transaction to be incomplete, as a seller, until I have received feedback. That feedback tells me that my customer received their item and that we are 'good to go' until the next time they need me. I will not blindly place feedback and then find out the item was lost in the mail for weeks and I am hostage to the threat of THE BIG NEGATIVE. I will not quiver in the face of threats of negatives. 1% think I'm a crook, 1% think I'm doing some miraculous deed by just doing my job. The truth is that I am human, fallable, and do my best. I have found the 1% rule to hold in whatever business I have done in the last 40 years. I think both of those folks, at opposite ends of the spectrum, probably need some help outside of the eBay range of services, but that's just my opinion. The rest of you know we're just out here, doing our best. Ultimately, the feedback I give out is a reflection of your attitude. If your parting message is rude or worse, expect the WORST.
