Good quality
This is a well made, quality product. That being said, it will not work without modification on trucks with extended hubs. 5" deep is not enough. If you have the ability, it can be modified to extend the reach, which is what I will do. It is a good base to start with. If you do not need to reach more than 5" deep, it is a quality product and should serve you well for a lifetime.

Jacobs Chucks
They are very good quality. They come with the key. I needed (3) to go on a tail-stock turret with 5/8 tool sockets. These have 5/8 threads, so it is nothing to thread and part off some 5/8 stock. They are about 1/2 of what I would have had to pay for china chucks, and they are US made Jacobs quality. I am very pleased.

Works for me
I got this to mount my light transit on for some surveying on my property. It is quite stable and just the right height when fully extended. I have not made the adapter plate yet, but I am sure it will be just fine, and at a fraction of the cost of one designed for that purpose. I am very pleased with the overall quality and ease of deployment. I will use it with my camera as well. I love that it has a hook for a plumb bob and the built in level, although tiny, is just fine for my purpose.
