I attended my 1st convention in February 1974, then started selling at Science Fiction and fantasy and media conventions in 1975. A friend was giving up her science fiction bookstore, Tales from the White Hart, at the same time I was giving up on my 1st marriage, so I took it over in 1977. A Life-Member of the Baltimore Science Fiction Society, I've held a minor office within the club and run variously, the Dealers' Room and Filking at Balticon, the annual convention the club runs. Science fiction books have been part of my life since I was 9, Fanfiction since age 13, conventions and fanzines since I was 20, filking since age 22. My 2nd zine came out 26 years after my 1st, and my 1st CD, Scaring the Sheep, finally came out after 17 years of threatening to get it into production. My 2nd and 3rd CDs, Singing Against the Wind and Do Hackers Dream of Electric Sheep? will be out in the next several months. Severe carpal tunnel syndrome has curtailed my writing severely in the last 3 years.
