What does the S & H consist of? – First of all, please note that it’s called Shipping & Handling and not merely Postage. We pride ourselves on being able to deliver purchased items to our eBay customers in excellent condition with lightening speed. As a result, we have found that shipping via Priority Mail is normally a hassle free method to accomplish this goal. The Postal Service charges $4.80 for Priority Mail for items upto 16 ounces. Of the shipping and handling charge that we apply, roughtly $1.18 goes to us to defray the cost of our packaging materials and paperwork. We take great care in preparing items for shipping – being wrapped in plastic and a self-sealing stay flat envelope for maximum protection for automotive brochures. Other automobilia normally requires additional packing materials and preparation in order to assure a safe, timely arrival in mint condition.

We continually review our S&H charges for reasonableness – both to our customers and our actual costs. You will note that for a growing number of automotive brochures that the S&H has been changed from flat to a calculated rate. This means that we will be shipping these items via First Class Mail domestically – but this has serious limitations. We use Paypal to purchase our postage on all domestically shipped items. When Paypal is used to purchase First Class postage and print the label, they force the buyer to purchase delivery confirmation for an additional $0.19 per item. In addition, First Class has a limit of 13 ounces. This means that if the weight of the item and packing materials exceeds 13 ounces we end up with two possibilities – shipping via Priority Mail or shipping via Media Mail at a lower cost and risk delivery problems (of which we have had many with Media Mail – we really prefer NOT to ship this way, although its dirt cheap)
