Why the name Wayfaringlacy?
Why the name Wayfaringlacy?
It's from a favorite folk gospel song, Wayfaring Stranger...I am a poor, wayfaring stranger...wandering through this world of woe. But there's no sickness, toil, or danger...in that bright world, to which I go... I also love Deep & Wide, but that just doesn't sound as good!
Business InformationHistory/background
Wayfaringlacy has existed in one form or another for more than three decades. My very first paid sewing job in the early 70s was a complete set of minature fabric furniture for a dollhouse -- probably in someone's collection now! I have literally dozens of awards and ribbons for fashion shows, county fairs (in the 70s & 80s), and statewide contests in dressmaking, costumes, and crewelwork. First from neccessity, and then from desire, custom dressmaking and vintage fashions have been a constant part of my life for over 30 years. Every significant event in my adult life is memorable for it's vintage fashion...school, college, dating, wedding, maternity, thrifty mom, boredom, dating again (with the same wonderful man). Nowadays, I use much of my time for treasure hunting in our fun and eclectic midwestern college town, for supporting my children's interests during the weekdays, and welcoming my husband home every weekend. Wayfaringlacy as an Ebay store fits perfectly into our lives.
