Great Story In First Rate Book
Unique story told from an under-represented point of view (that of an African woman who is neither rich nor famous), and the physical book itself is in great nearly new condition.

Low-budget movie with big names, original story
While the idea of Staten Island as a mobsters' paradise is cliched even if there is an element of truth to it, the fact that some "big names" on camera such as Vincent D'Onofrio took on this project shows the appeal of the original elements of the story. Though this is a mobster story, and a Staten Island story, it has an element of science fiction. A septic-tank service man steals money from the mob in order to pay for a medical procedure that promises a genetically engineered kid who will be in the high-IQ club, something the prospective father hopes would provide him a future that isn't in the septic tank business. A mobster turns environmentalist and stages a treetop sit-in to suit his purposes. And though the ambitious septic tank serviceman gets killed in the end, a rough sort of justice prevails when a Deaf deli man who had been disposing of mafia-killed corpses for years turns on his mafiosi masters and kills off the ringleaders of the gang who had been bringing him bodies to dump. Especially worth noting is the innovative way in which they portrayed the point of view of the Deaf man. By filming the scenes in which he was involved in silence, with the exception of playing cheerful background music when he was clearly happy, the way in which a Deaf man might percieve the world around him was evoked in a dignified and potentially realistic way. I bought the DVD because I am a fan of Vincent D'Onofrio and was interested in seeing a new and innovative movie. It didn't disappoint.

Some New Ideas From Classic Literature
While this book loses points for tiny type and a few of the Shakespearean aphorisms therein being dull or second-rate, it does represent an effort to comb the some of the better-known works of The Bard for sophisticated-sounding speech to be used in situations where insults or unflattering comparisons or descriptions of peoples' character and actions are called for. Even I, a master of insults who had to read some of Shakespeare's plays for school, learned a few things.
