Why should you bid on Wineberrylane auctions?
If you are a collector or enthusiast of things sentimental, old, odd, unusual or just plain wonderful, then you have something in common with Wineberrylane. We only list items we think are interesting and it has been great fun to discover that there are others who feel the same way. Having met many many nice folks in eBay-land, we'll keep searching for more vintage and antique treasure as long as it is fun, and the fun has been going on for over eight years now. There are a few nuts, kooks and downright strange people out there, but 99.99% of our transactions have been with friends we hadn't, as yet, met.
Business InformationHistory/background
We have had our items purchased for the Boy Scout Museum, an historical society in Maine and the Children's Museum of Chicago. Artists have used our graphics, photos and odd jewelry pieces to create new, one-of-a-kind treasure. One item found it's way into a reference book-an early electric Christmas lightbulb shaped like a potato. We didn't know it was rare, but the bidders did! Our items have been bought by students, collectors, researchers, enthusiasts and, well, to be honest maybe a weirdo or two. A 1940s photo of a pretty young woman was recognized by a daughter whose deceased mother was the subject. A jewelry box was bought by a lady who had had the exact same one lost in a house fire. These are the sort of heart-warming situations that make eBay such a delight.
Payment policy
Paypal and US money order only. No exceptions, sorry.
Shipping information
We pack well and ship promptly. Every item is hand-carried to the post office and we stand in line to hand it over. USPS has, on the whole, been pretty efficient, but there have been occasional delays and inexplicable loss a time or two. The best we can do is take it and hand it across the counter, the rest is up to the postal service. All postal receipts are retained as proof of our prompt attention. We just have a really hard time understanding why a buyer would blame the seller when postal delivery issues are out of our control. We retain our receipts and help those smart enough to purchase insurance with claims, if ever necessary. Fortunately, these type of issues are rare, but our feedback reflects unreasonable blame, and we hope that bidders take into account that we live in Virginia and can't hand carry items to your location; that is what you are paying USPS to do.
