Light box satisfactory, Lamps bad
5 of 5 found this helpful The items that come with this light box are a mixed bag. The light box itself is satisfactory - the materials it is made with aren't a great quality but do have a velveteen property on one side so they would work alright for taking pictures.
The biggest problem with this kit is the lights. They are awful! They get VERY hot - they smell badly within minutes of being turned on (an issue that is addressed in some literature that comes with the kit - it's apparently the plastic becoming hot but they insist is not actually melting) and the light produces a ton of heat - it's enough where I worry about having the lamps too close to the fabric of the light box. But beyond the heat, the lamps simply do not produce enough light to take good pictures. They produce enough light to see your item, but not enough to eliminate shadows and certainly not enough to illuminate your item sufficiently for professional photographs.
In short: the soft materials for this light box can work to take pictures, but the lamps themselves are simply awful.
