I enjoy painting anything and everything; lately I've been focusing on polymer clay pendants, wood, galvanized tin, and paper mache. I also love to design the pendants and am beginning to create my own designs for painting on any surface.

I currently take care of my mother and father who are well into their 80's. My mother is under the care of Hospice and still is at home with us. I've discovered caregiving is very rewarding and challenging at the same time, but I feel God has given me this privilege and I am where he wants me to be and doing what he wants me to do.

I developed an interest in painting from a friend of mine who asked me to attend classes with her a few years ago. At first we learned how to tole paint and to this day I still use some of the techniques I learned in those classes. We also learned how to paint on different surfaces. My favorite artists in this medium include Renee Mullins, author of the Plum Prudy book series, and Jamie Mills-Price, author of Between-The-Vines series. This last year people have expressed a lot of interest in my work; so, I began selling my products through eBay, Etsy.com, special orders, and at craft sales. I also sell some of my items through wholesalers across the country. My wares tend to have more of a country feel and are enjoyed by people of all ages.

I strongly prefer Paypal because it is quicker for the buyer and easier for me.

I like to save shipping charges by combining whenever possible. I can only combine shipping for like items for auctions within a 7-day period. Unless the customer requests otherwise, I ship via first class and flat rate priority. I receive great feedback on the quality of my merchandise and the excellence of my packing. Usually I ship within 24 hours upon receiving payment.

Returns within 14 days allowed on product cost only - not shipping. Products must be in condition received and must include my packing list. Buyer is responsible for paying return shipping.

I had a wonderful teacher who gave me a lot of tips on how to work with clay, but her techniques are secret and I would be putting myself in jeopardy if I divulged them to anyone. I spend hours designing and sculpting the clay and recently I’ve expanded my skills to constructing bails, the loop at the top of the pendant, to fit a variety of chains, cords, ribbons, and wires. My customers like to use the pendants in various ways such as necklaces, cell phones charms, backpacks, purses, gym bags. The pendants can also be used as broaches, magnets and package decorations. One customer purchased a pendant for decorating her little girl’s Christmas tree. The pendants are waterproof and very durable. Although I don’t recommend this, I inadvertently washed one of mine in hot water in my washing machine with no ill effects. I thoroughly enjoy painting and working with clay especially adding the finishing touches such as attaching Swarovski crystals to the pendant.

Over the years I have learned how to paint on all kinds of surfaces. I like to use Americana and Delta paint because of the quality and the quantity of colors offered. My favorite colors are buttermilk, eggplant, Napa red, and avocado. I use script liner, filberts, and flat brushes. The comma stroke and C stroke are some of the techniques I use quite frequently. I particularly enjoy stippling and dry brushing – I could do that all day and well into the night with a bright light. My Ott light has become my best friend second only to chocolate. As with the clay I like the country style in painting, snowmen, kitties, sheep – I love sheep, flowers, bunnies, and birds galore. My favorite surface to paint is polymer clay; so, everything works together to make a great pendant.
