My passion! Pierre Dulaine, featured in TAKE THE LEAD and MAD HOT BALLROOM, started this wonderful ballroom-dancing-in-the-schools program in 1994 with one inner-city NYC 5th-grade classroom and 30 kids. Now there are 2000 enthusiastic NYC kids in the program every year. In 1996 the program spread to a second city -- Omaha, Nebraska -- thanks to my amazing, beautiful, smart, energetic, dancing-queen daughter. I'm proud to be one of 20 or so teachers in the program. It's NOT EXTRACURRICULAR -- we teach during the regular school day. You would not believe the transformation in these cynical 5th-graders. They love it!
